Forks of the Credit

Quarry Proposal

Make yourself heard!

The Forks of the Credit Preservation Group is a community organization that aims to preserve the ecological integrity of Caledon and protect the water, land, and air by stopping the below the water table blasting and excavation of a proposed quarry immediately north of the Fork of the Credit Provincial Park. Quarries are often much deeper than pits, with the proposed quarry being approximately 700 acres. It will require continuous pumping of millions of liters of water from the quarry floor, which could have a significant impact on local water supplies and the entire Credit River Watershed. The Forks of the Credit Preservation Group is asking for help to ensure that a license for this quarry is never approved.
