July 2023

ALL HANDS ON DECK !

The Kitchener Centre By Election is underway

Although the writ has not yet dropped for this by election, the Green campaign is well underway. An amazing candidate has been chosen (Aislinn Clancy's website) ,  a campaign office has opened its doors (162 Victoria St S, Kitchener, ON N2G 2B7.) and canvassing has begun.

It is all hands on Deck!

The DCGreens would like to fill a car of volunteers that would be interested in heading to Kitchener Centre during July, to help with canvassing.

If you would like to join the fun, please rsvp using the button below. Remember, no experience is necessary, just some enthusiasm.

Green Party of Ontario Convention 2023

The Annual General Meeting is coming up in September

Although I have been actively involved with the DC Greens Executive for several years, last year was my first experience attending the AGM. It was a great experience despite my hesitation in signing up. Where I was worried I would feel intimidated surrounded by Greens who are more knowledgable than I in Provincial politics, I found myself encouraged and assured by the abundance of like minded folks who care as much as I do in making changes to our province to address climate change and social injustices. I also enjoyed being part of our group of DCGreens who attended.

Please consider joining me, and other DCGreens, this year at the AGM in Kitchener and catch the early bird special by registering by July 27th.

Did you see this ad in the Orangeville and Caledon Citizens?

We have the local chapter, "Dufferin-Caledon Greenbelt Promise" ,  to thank for its placement in the June 8th issues of the Citizen. The chapter, headed by Sharon Somerville, was established this past May by Dan O'Rielly and Sharon Sommerville with fundraising, canvassing, letter writing, sign delivery, and volunteer recruitment. The Keep the Greenbelt Promise is a coalition of grassroots organizations dedicated to saving Ontario’s greenbelt from future land development and pressuring MPPs to keep Premier Ford’s promise to not touch the greenbelt.

Please Join the DC Greens for canvassing with Greenbeltpromise on:

Just click the date to sign up.

If you are unable to canvass, please consider one of the following: donating to take out another full page ad in the Orangeville and Caledon Citizens (pictured above), promoting lawn signs and petitions at local farmers' markets, or joining the letter writing campaign.

Please contact Sharon Sommerville at via email to help.
