Nov 2022

Over the last month, hundreds of people have come together to Stop Highway 413, the costly environmental disaster that will pave over thousands of acres of farmland and parts of the Greenbelt. Now, the Premier plans to abandon his promise to protect the Greenbelt and open it up to developers and land speculators. On Saturday, November 26, let’s make sure the Premier hears us loud and clear: Hands Off the Greenbelt!

On this day of action, supporters all across the province will head out into their neighbourhoods to collect petition signatures, and tell their neighbours about Highway 413 and Doug Ford’s plans to bulldoze the Greenbelt. When you sign up for the Day of Action, your community will receive a door-knocking package that includes postcards, pages to collect petition signatures, and suggested door-knocking scripts.

The community with the most volunteers signed up for November 26 will be joined by Ontario Greens leader Mike Schreiner. We will measure this by the number of RSVPs in each riding.

CONGRATULATIONS to Elizabeth May and Jonathan Pedneault for being elected as co-leaders of the Green Party of Canada. After tumoultous times, the federal party is now stabilizing under proven leadership. Financial stabilization is also in order at the level of our Dufferin-Caledon Federal Association. Can you help with a donation? Thanks in advance.

Now, onto something different:)

SAVE THE DATE:

Wednesday, 7th of December, 6PM, at The Taphouse in Orangeville.

While we always enjoy the social aspect of our Pub Nights, we would like to change it up a bit this time. We have a representative from FAIR VOTE CANADA joining us and we will learn (between beers and food) a bit more about this awesome organization. Stay tuned for details coming soon.

Cheers!
